TeniQua Treetops, nestled in South Africa's Garden Route, upgraded to a fully autonomous eco-lodge with a 28kW solar system and expansive battery storage, ensuring reliable power for decentralized tents. Enhanced water infrastructure includes a large Aquadam tank and advanced treatment, promoting sustainability in a remote forest setting.
This project transformed TeniQua Treetops into an off-grid haven, integrating renewable energy and water solutions to minimize environmental impact while enhancing guest comfort. The wireless monitoring network allows seamless tent communication, and increased water capacity supports operations during dry periods, setting a benchmark for eco-tourism in the region.
We delivered a comprehensive hybrid system:
28kW Solar PV Array with 50kWh battery storage for seamless off-grid power across all tents.
Advanced Energy Monitoring: Point-to-multipoint wireless network enabling real-time feedback and communication between tents on a decentralized platform.
Water Infrastructure: 133kL Aquadam storage tank, paired with an upgraded water treatment facility featuring filtration and purification units.
